Website project / RAW Fire & Security

A website that reflects the business RAW has become

RAW had grown, and its website needed to catch up. Harvey and Kevin wanted an online presence that reflected the scale and quality of their commercial work, while keeping the straightforward, approachable character their customers know them for.

The brief

Showing the business as it is today

Our conversations quickly moved beyond colours and layouts. RAW’s existing website featured imagery that no longer represented the current team, and its presentation needed to reflect the business they were now running.

They wanted larger commercial clients to see their technical capability and professionalism. At the same time, someone looking after a building needed to understand what RAW could help with, even if they didn’t know the name of the system or service they required.

Harvey and Kevin were also clear about their approach: understand the problem, recommend a practical solution and avoid selling equipment people don’t need. That became an important part of how I shaped the website.

The website

Making the right information easier to find

01

Start with the customer’s situation

I organised the enquiry journey around what someone needs: maintenance, an upgrade, a new system, a larger project or support across multiple sites. There’s also a route for people who aren’t sure. Visitors can recognise their situation before needing to understand the technical terminology.

02

Give commercial buyers the detail they need

Clear service information, geographic coverage and a dedicated procurement and compliance section help visitors assess RAW’s suitability. The site also distinguishes between businesses looking after their own premises and contractors or commercial partners delivering projects.

03

Keep the people and their approach visible

The messaging reflects the conversations I had with Harvey and Kevin. Technical knowledge, practical recommendations and an approachable first conversation are central to the site, alongside clear routes for new enquiries and existing customers needing urgent support.

The details around the website

RAW flame mark

A recognisable flame

I developed a simplified flame mark for use as the website’s favicon, giving RAW a recognisable symbol even in the small space of a browser tab.

A considered first impression when shared

I also created a branded social sharing image, so a link to RAW’s website has a considered visual introduction when shared on platforms that support link previews. It carries the identity beyond the website itself.
